One red light- This behavior occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure. This most likely means there is a problem with the hard drive and not the console itself, try pulling out the HD and playing to see if the issue occurs.

Two red lights- This behavior occurs when the internal temperature of the console exceeds the acceptable limits. You may think of this as too hot, overheating, and so on: so cool off your dang xbox

Two red lights and two green lights- There are two red flashing lights and two green flashing lights on the Ring of Light (RoL) on the front of the Xbox 360 console. The lights change positions on the Ring of Light while they flash. This is the only time that an Xbox 360 console displays both green and red in the ring of light at the same time. This problem occurs because of a very rare known issue on a very small number of previously repaired consoles. It is almost never seen by customers: call customer support affraid

Three red lights- This behavior occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure. See our three red light specific thread.

Four red lights- This issue may occur for one of the following reasons: The audio-visual (AV) cable is not connected correctly or plugged into the Xbox 360 console. The console is not detecting the cable.
This issue does not occur if the AV cable is plugged incorrectly into a television, a stereo, or a VCR.
Note This issue occurs only on Xbox 360 consoles that do not have a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) AV port.

Ask if you need any more information.
